Suh-weet 90's metal; an unpredictable barrage.
This cd is somewhat remniniscent of their first, a way back when, when their variation between speed metal and 80's harmonization was unique. Here they get back on track and do what they do best. This is simply their best in years. It is a much more coherent effort throughout, something sometimes missing from some of their other releases. Thematically, they again pick up on their analogy of space as heaven. They also develop the idea further of life being a journey of sorts, a trip that we are all on that has many intersections along the way. This cd is well produced and has something for everyone. Modern metal combined with Beatlesque harmonization makes this band special. You Make Me Smile is simply a cool song, as is the obscure Mrs. Leslie. I Do What I Do echoes the Apostle ... This cd is somewhat remniniscent of their first, a way back when, when their variation between speed metal and 80's harmonization was unique. Here they get back on track and do what they do best. This is simply their best in years. It is a much more coherent effort throughout, something sometimes missing from some of their other releases. Thematically, they again pick up on their analogy of space as heaven. I Do What I Do echoes the Apostle Paul's frustration with his own nature, the inner battle of good vs. bad that we all can relate to. It has a catchy chorus that is a tongue-twister initially. The song Blind is about being near-sighted and being confused about one's personal inhibitions of reality. It is a spiritually revealing song. There are, of course, some rockers here also, but it is the mid-tempo songs that are memorable this time around. This 4-member band from Texas continues to shine with musical skill and creativity. Their lyrics ask pertinent spiritual questions of humanity that everyone should consider, at least periodically. They make theology accessible without overt preaching. They are witty and can be quite playful lyrically.

Excellent Texas Metal
This is a very underrated band from Texas, loved this CD from the moment I heard it on radio (back when radio DJ's could play full albums without getting fired) and jumped on the chance to buy it when I saw it listed here. Very hard rock and a bit on the metal side ocassionally, but with great vocal harmonies and hooks. Highly recommend it!
