  • Strangely familiar to Asimov fans but not really Asimov

    Having read every one of Asimov's books several times over I have always had a special fondness for his Robot stories with the two collections of Robot short stories 'I, Robot' and 'The Rest of The Robots' being my favourites. Personally I think the Susan Calvin stories were the best but have to say his full length robot detective stories 'The Caves of Steel' and 'The Naked Sun' were exceptionally good. So after the success of 'Bicentennial Man' they went and made a full length film called 'I, Robot' which was not based on the short story collection of that name but very, very loosely on the full length novel 'The Caves of Steel'. If you have not read the Asimov novels you can watch this film and think "Bloody Hell, this is a great film" but as I had [read the novels] I couldn't help ...
