When buying shirts on eBay I've always selected 2XL, and they fit comfortably. In this case, the 2XL fit more like an L (large). Also, the material is definitely not cotton/linen, it appears to be a synthetic material, probably 100% polyester. The advertisement photo of the shirt offered had wrinkles that appear like 100% cotton. This transaction is not what I've come to expect of items sold on eBay, sorry to say.
