    Still mastering the detector

    Picks up buried objects very well but I need to learn to distinguish junk metals from the more valuable items I am sure this will come with more practice still looking to find my first valuable item display and beeps and digital numbers are very easy to see and hear all in all a very good detector

    faults

    whilst the 300i detector is a good machine it is let down by a few poor quality parts, the coil cover breaks when fitted it is very tight and has only one way of going on hence it snapped because its to tight and rigid, the control box cover could do with a longer velcro strip as it only just fits. the extras that come with this detector are great. maybe Garret could look into the faults then i would give this 100%

    Garrett ace 300i

    Only purchased this recently and used it briefly on a recent site ,I was pleasantly surprised by its performance and ease of use. I would recommend this to anyone seeking to use this detector on any level from beginner to advanced users. Very easy to operate with lots of options for a variety of metals and to also the option to eliminate unwanted metals, foils etc. Very reasonably priced for a detector of this quality .

    A new hobby

    Have been out a few times on my small holding , finding lots of old metal bits quite deep 6" . still learning how to use it, but pleased so far. Have my first horseshoe and plough share. I like the head phones as I am a bit deaf so easily hear when a find is found. This is my first metal detector so cannot compare with others. It does what I wanted at a reasonable price.

    Beginner's luck

    Good quality and reliable. Bought a cheap detector to see if we liked the fun of detecting for stuff and very quickly realised we needed something better than the cheap one and within days bought the Garrett 300i. Not found anything of any value as yet, but has given my son and I quality time together.
