Great Book - Not So Great Size
This newer version is smaller than the older printing. I was surprised to see how much smaller this was. I like the bigger version better since it is easier to see from a distance. But for the price, it is OK

A Must For Any Drummer!
This book is literally Drummer 101. If someone has an interest in learning to play drums with sticks (though a hand drummer would get a lot of good as well), you start here. An inexpensive metronome or similar phone app, a pair of sticks, and a mouse pad and you're ready to start. Of course, a drum practice pad or snare is even better, but a mouse pad on a tabletop actually works really well! To begin with, learn and master the first two pages, until you can do them at 90 beats per minute or faster with no errors. Practicing a half an hour daily, it took me about six weeks to get there and I have no talent. Those of you with any ability whatsoever will probably advance faster. After you get the first two pages mastered, you can start lessons for the drum set, or continue on if you are ... This book is literally Drummer 101. Great book for any percussionist!
I'm only getting started with snare drum, myself, but I can see how this book would be valuable for snare drummers at any level -- from the beginner up to the professional. Whatever you're working-on, there's an exercise in this book for you!
