    Take me to Scilly

This is such a beautiful story with warm & loving characters. The scenery is mesmerizing & of course the musical score is great. However, we had multiple issues trying to get it to continue after the 14th chapter. Try after try, it simply would not continue. We bought a 2nd one & it did the same thing. Eventually, we stumbled into getting it to run until the end. Don’t give up, it WILL run it’s course!

  • Great Italian film for everyone

This is one of the best films to come out of Italy during the late 20th Century. The powerful, award-winning soundtrack by Luis Baclov powers this touching film. Il Postino tells the story of a young man living in a small Italian fishing village who becomes friends with the exiled Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda. He falls in love with a woman in town named Beatrice and needs Neruda's help to woo her. The ensuing story is interesting and often laugh-out-loud funny. The movie may last a little longer than it should, but overall it is a very enjoyable film. I would strongly recommend it, especially if you have seen and enjoyed the film Cinema Paradiso. Il Postino is a wonderful movie and could easily find a special place in your collection.

  • European instant classic

This is a story of a man who is not confident or outgoing in life (Mario). He falls in love with a very sensual woman, (as we all know the hardest to get) instead of forgetting about her. He discovers that an exiled Chilean writter/poet has arrived to his hometown, and soon enough, taking advantage of his job as a postman, asks Pablo Neruda for help with Beatrice. I'll leave my review here, on my note, Neruda's work have made me feel how I see love, in another words, I fall in love everytime I read his work.
