Could be better. hits all important stuff
While the book is very informative, it is lacking in some of the finer details regarding upgrading and reassembly. Never having rebuilt an aod transmission before, I could have used some more information to the actual rebuilding process. Especially more photos. All in all it is a great book to start with but I think you'll still need a good ole ford book to really get a feel for the job. More step by step in the process would have been nice as well. Excellent manual for the AOD transmission
This book along with the factory service manual will answer all your questions regarding the rebuild of an AOD. Neither book answers the question of what tools. Monster transmission has a video about the tools required. Which is much less tools then the books say you need.

This is the standard rebuild book
Great book. Good photos. Step-by-step instructions. Clearances and torque specs all included. I would love it if it had a few “recipes” for high performance builds at various HP targets. Something that includes both parts and assembly guidelines.
