Great metal amp.
This thing has many, many, many different sounds. It remembers your settings when you want to go back to that perfect sound you dialed in. The crunchy metal sounds makes your guitar scream! This thing is in my opinion the loudest practice amp I've ever heard. I love this thing. I was going to get a 10" or 12" amp but I'm glad I got this 8" speaker amp because it is almost as loud as those bigger amps. It definitely holds it's own and I want to walk over to my old amp and kick it out the door!! Lol.. Line 6 spider 3 replaces all the pedals I need!! This amp is budget friendly and rocks out some killer riffs & solo's! This thing has many, many, many different sounds. I gotta say, then this amplifier gives a lot of bang for your buck! Outstanding performance for any metalhead out there, but why is it? This thing packs 4 different channels, and even 2 built in effect knobs. One knob features the Chorus Flange, Phaser, and Tremolo, while the other knob bears a Sweep Echo, Tape Echo, and Reverb. You can only choose one effect per knob, but each knob also adjusts the amount of each effect you want, from subtle to vibrant. On top of that, the amp features a push button to let you control the delay on the echo - just press it twice within the time span you wish to set...first time to activate it and second time to stop it however later you want your echo to come forth. On the clean channel, you get nice clear tones that sound quite ... I gotta say, then this amplifier gives a lot of bang for your buck! On the clean channel, you get nice clear tones that sound quite outstanding when paired up with a vibrant Tape Echo with a short delay time. The crunch channel if any alternative player's choice, with just a tad bit more gain to achieve a light distortion. Metal - my personal favorite. I honestly enjoy playing things such as Lamb of God, Children of Bodom and Metallica on this channel. Pair this up with a Tape Echo (I am quite aware that I abuse the Tape Echo) and it'll emulate the feeling of playing in a large stadium. I'd recommend rocketing the gain, bass and treble (just a tad bit more treble than bass), and adding a decent amount of mid in there...a little less than halfway on the dial. The Insane channel is probably the most distortion this amp can give you. It sounds decent when playing old Metallica and Megadeth, but I still prefer the Metal channel. Want to play along with your favourite tunes? On the right of the amplifier is a CD/MP3 in jack, and it's already the size of a standard headphone jack, so all that's needed is an auxiliary cable. If neighbors, roommates or parents are a problem, there's a Phones/Out jack on the right...but please, don't demolish your hearing capabilities! This jack, however, is the size of a standard guitar jack, so you'll need to get a converter ONLY if you need to fit a jack the size of an MP3 cable. I have pretty much said all I have wanted to about this beauty, but if you're still fickle on your decision, you can still test this out at your local guitar shop! It may not be a tube amp, but it's still the perfect tool for any metal head on a budget! :)

Great sound, multi-effects, input & headphone jack, low price. Plug n play.
I needed a good practice amp for the bedroom. This amp goes from super clean to metal+ and in between. It includes several popular effects as well. I LIKE that is has a MP3/Audio input. I can jam and practice right along with my favorite songs. I like the fact that it has a headphone jack. No need to bother anyone while playing. 15 watts RMS is pretty loud. Plenty loud for a smaller gig, practicing, etc. Difference between this and the Spider IV is that the IV has a foot switch connector on the front panel and a built in tuner. I was looking at a few contenders including the Acoustic G10, the Peavey Vypyr (slightly too complicated for my taste - I just wanna play, not have to decide what amp and cab emulation I want for each song) as well as the next model the Line 6 Spider IV 15. Nice, small practice or recording amp with tons of effects built in. Chorus/Flange/Tremlo and the Echo/Tape Echo/Reverb give you an array of effects with a turn of a knob. There's even an input to feed a backing track off a CD or MP3 player. I wouldn't reccomend this as a stage amp but for practice or just jamming around, it has plenty of volume.

I was looking for an amp that sounded great and had distortion and reverb. This fit the bill and a lot more. It has pre set sounds of you top rock and jazz bands or you can program you own. There is a channel to run MP3 or other input and play along. A great fun little amp to practice with or patch in. A great value especially if you have a young aspiring rocker just learning the chops.
