About this product

Product Information

This book documents how the European Union's market integration projects have increased trade and caused corporations to reorganize on a European basis. Then, it demonstrates how these changes have led to the creation of a European society and politics. Much of the current political conflict about the EU can be attributed to who is and who is not involved in European society. Upper middle class citizens who benefit the most tend to think of themselves as Europeans. Lower middle class and poorer citizens have benefited less and maintain national identities. They view the EU as intrusive on national sovereignty and fear that its pro-business orientation will overwhelm the national welfare states. A third group of middle class voters benefit from European integration and sometimes think of themselves as Europeans. They are the most critical to the future of the Europe. If they favor more European cooperation, politicians will oblige. If they decide not to support that cooperation, the European project will stall.

Always happy with the Nile's service. Whilst dispatch can take longer than others, books are sourced at a great price from locations worldwide and from prior experience I know to order in advance. I ordered three expensive textbooks for uni, two weeks later they were dispatched and the next day received - all earlier than expected timeframe. Packaged very well, books intact. Great seller, updated tracking and items as described. A+++
