A wonderfully realised film of the novella by Stephen King [ partly autobiographical ]. Some wonderful reflections by cast, authur and director in special features on the making of the film.

One of the best stephen king storys and is not a horror a great kids coming to age story. About friendship and what it means to be a friend. Worth owning an orginal dvd that you can play and remember what a great story teller stephen king is. Great kid actors that became stars and stared river phonix and is one of his best films..
