I fell in love with Sting's music several years ago after "Brand New Day" came out... I was fortunuate enough to be able to see him in concert in Las Vegas at the end of his "All This Time" tour. I was shocked at how amazing he is in concert and this CD takes me back to that memory every time I play it. This CD was recorded live and is jazzy, but still Timeless Sting. "Fragile" and "A Thousand Years" are so meaningful, only Sting could write such songs. I don't think there is one thing I dislike about this CD, and highly reccommend it to anyone that likes jazzy, romantic, meaningful music.
Vacationing in Tuscany, south of Florence, in the Tuscan hills outside of Figline Valdarno, this past May we discovered that Sting had, in the previous year since our last visit, bought a beautiful villa just down the road. The villa we stayed at, Casanuova, played the haunting melodies of this particular CD, which Sting recorded in response to the events of 9/11. Upon return to our home in the United States I decided to surprise my husband with this CD. So now, each time we throw it into the stereo system and play its sounds over the deck and gardens, we find ourselves swept away again to all of our fun in the sun, with all of our friends, under the Tuscan sun... We prize this purchase. The music is GREAT and the memories it evokes even GREATER!
This is actually one of my favorite Sting CD's and I have them all! He is good enough to surround himself with some of the finest jazz musicians in the world. He has had Vinnie Coaliutu on drums, Omar Hakim (Weather Report) on drums, Wynton Marsalis on Sax and Kenny Kirkland one of the greatest keyboardists ever. These guys have always worked around Sting's style, but on this album, Sting works in their style and the tracks take on a whole new life to them. If you are a jazz/fusion fan you will love this album. The musicianship is second to none and Sting's voice sounds amazing in these jazz arrangements.
Wow!!!! Is this 2022? This gig was played on 9/11.I have every Sting CD; at least I thought I did. This cd is quite a "jem". Excellent, jazzy renditions of his songs, performed before a smaller venue. I love this cd.Sixty-two minutes of complete jazz bliss.

I love Sting live and this one surprised me. He jazzes up a lot of his (and the Police's) songs. It's quiet and funky and well worth the listen. I don't think you'll find another one like it. I know that I haven't. Might be worth 5 stars if you really like the jazzy stuff, which I typically don't. That's why I gave it 4 stars. But, it was a pleasant surprise. Well worth the money and the sound is very good.

Great stuff- different twists on Sting standards. Different arrangements showing off his jazz and blue eyed soul sides. Some will say this is just rehashed material but for me Sting is in a handful of performers who have lasted multiple decades by reinventing themselves and their music.
Live concert featured at the evening after WWC tragedy. The arranges and sound of the music is influenced by spirit of this evening - fear, confusion, clueless, but the incredible power on the other hand. A real tribute to the victims.
This is Timeless Sting.... performed live on a beautiful night. You could drift off and put yourself in the gathering that night. Great to kick back and sip some wine with a loved one, you can't help but get caught in a romantic vibe.
