About this product

Product Information

From Mary Karr comes this gorgeously written, often hilarious story of her tumultuous teens and sexual coming-of-age. Picking up where the bestselling The Liars' Club left off, Karr dashes down the trail of her teen years with customary sass, only to run up against the paralyzing self-doubt of a girl in bloom. Fleeing the thrills and terrors of adolescence, she clashes against authority in all its forms and hooks up with an unforgettable band of heads and bona-fide geniuses. Parts of Cherry will leave you gasping with laughter. Karr assembles a self from the smokiest beginnings, delivering a long-awaited sequel that is both "bawdy and wise" ( San Francisco Chronicle).

Great seller! Great price! Arrived very quickly! What more can you ask for? No reserve, not much marketing as I only had to bid once, like I said it was Awsome! I’d like such experience to be reserved for the likes of the people like me. If you build it they will come, but throw peanut shells on the floor and serve drink to cure the ailing soul and then they will come back for more.. just depends on what you want I guess.

  • Until the end of time

Mary Karr is a brilliant writer. She tells it like it was and crafts a story that you can't wait to get back to and can't bear for it to end. I am glad that she doesn't write for money but for the love of the craft. She'll be immortal and loved for eons.

  • Cherry by Mary Karr

Cherry picks up where 'The Liar's Club' leaves off. It is an autobiography of Mary Karr's teenagehood and coming of age in the late 60's early 70's. This book deals with her early drug use and is a great trip back to those times for us who lived through those times. If you've read 'The Liar's Club', you must read this one, the story isn't complete unless you do. Of course, it does leave you wondering what happened later on.......
