I own three of these and do enjoy them. They are small enough to travel with and play well with the Shure X2U, of which I also have three, and my Symetrix 528es, of which I also own three. One thing I always point out to people about the 416, though, is that its off-axis rejection is not as tight as some people think it is. I know professional worldwide v/o people whose 416s pick up more "booth" than desired, and I've found that the 416 is not as good at off-axis rejection as my venerable Shure SM-5Bs, of which I also own multiple. I once plugged a 416 into one channel of a signal chain and a 5B into the other channel of the stereo chain, then ran each into a channel of my mixer. Everything was set identically, so it was easy for me to go back and forth from one mic to the other. I was amazed at how much less off-axis sound the 5B picked up than the 416 did. Now, this doesn't mean I hate the 416; far from it. It has its strengths, for sure, as does the Shure SM-5B, which is my favorite mic, but which is too large to travel with. I just like to help people understand that the 416 is not a panacea in the off-axis rejection department to the degree some people think it is. It cuts through a mix well and is more forgiving on positioning than one might assume. Great mic overall! Read full review

Excellent vocal and multi-purpose microphone! A great addition to any studio small or large. World renowned sound quality.

Its very small. Nothing wrong with that though. Quality sound great. It almost feels like it has a built in high-cut inside it. The self-inherit noise is still there but almost sounds filtered or eq’d in the high range. The unwanted sounds from the sides are still there but less amounts of it. Im running my signal from this mic to a sound devices into a Tascam external recording device at 24bit 96khz.

Industry standard microphone for a reason. It's very good at what it does. I use for professional VO work and it sounds great! Very little processing required.

It came and shipped safe and arrived safe. It was placed in a diaper package box, you know, for baby diapers. At first I was confused but I realized that it was that way so it wouldn't be stolen off my porch. And it's the most genius thing I've ever seen in my life. I already used the mic on a job and it works wonderfully. So A+

This mic is amazing has amazing range and sound quality nothing comes close for the price. Bullet proof, Very easy ,very strong made out of brass and will last a long time you should never have to fix it. I have used the Rode stuff and it is good but not as good of sound and range and quality.
