Excellent movie at the height of BeatleMania! The movie is entertaining and the soundtracks are timeless classics! The DVD is well worth it! A MUST HAVE for every Beatles fan!

We've seen this at midnight movies and loved it, so bought the dvd. Tried to watch this dvd and it's unwatchable! It required installing Miramax video viewer although all my other dvds play fine in my laptop, then the different playback options were not clickable, when we finally watched the first scene, it stops after every scene and we had to restart the dvd at the beginning of each and every scene. After 4 scenes it would not work at all, updating the Miramax player did not help. Would not buy again, searched and unfortunately the older copies are reviewed as poor quality copies.

I wanted to show it to my highschool age kids because I remembered it being fun with lots of music. When we watched it together, they followed the story but we ran it with subtitles because of the scouse dialect. They thought it was fun the way the beatles seemed to improvise everything, and they groaned at many of the jokes. They said, "it's like a musical" when the songs came on, though the music didn't always relate to the action. They didn't think the hordes of screaming girls were unusual, although I said it seemed unprecedented at the time. They liked the songs, wondered who the individual players were, admired Paul's bass, and Ringo's stage manners. I enjoyed it again, but as an adult this time. I thought it was a cool promotional piece for a great group. With the passing of John and George, it seems like going through an old family album sort of.Read full review
First disc had the original movie. The Beatles really did not have much of a script for the movie. Pretty much were themselves, I think, which was great to see. Second disc has a lot of good interviews with people behind the scenes who helped make the movie. They shared stories I had never heard before in the making of the movie.

The DVD was in great shape. The last time I watched this movie was years ago. It was much more fun to watch than I had remembered it had been. i had forgotten just how quick and clever all four Beatles could be with their comebacks to some of the strange questions asked by reporters.

I can clearly remember my sister bringing home the "Meet the Beatles" album back when it had just been released in the early sixties...You wouldn't think a record would change someone's life as it did....but it did..and as I discovered later it's not an uncommon story. I became a professional musician and owe it all to this group from Liverpool but I'd bet they launched almost all the babyboomer generation's mucical careers......we all wanted to be the next Beatles! As time went on I became interested in other music...mostly jazz but it seems now I've re-discovered my roots. Yes, I think I'm going through Beatlemania again at 56 years old! I orderd this DVD from e-bay, which is where I seem to get most everything these days and watching it took me back to the day I saw it in the theater among screaming girls.... as if they were really up on stage! While I don't see them as the gods I thought they were at 14 I do appreiciate them even more in some ways. They were the first to introduce the self contained group....the combo! They played their own instruments...sang their own vocals (lead and background) and wrote their own tunes. They set the standard for the generations to come! This is a great dvd to have in any Beatle fans collection! It' a great documentation of the time if you were not there and a great way to go back if you were!Read full review
Entertaining and fun come to mind as you watch this wonderful production with the "Fab Four." Who would have guessed that an astounding rock group could also be great actors. Simple story to follow surrounded by the groups hits used in the soundtrack. No band before or since has accomplished what these boys from Liverpool did in such a short time. Light hearted comedy that shows the personal side of the BEATLES. This is a no "Brainer" to a collector of Beatlemania or to anyone who just wants to watch a great film. This is entertainment at its finest. I've collected period films by The Dave Clark Five and Herman's Hermits and there is no comparison, A Hard Days Night when first seen in 1964 was beyond everyone's expectations, especially the critics. My review? Two thumbs up for, A Hard Day's Night.Read full review
this is a standard, which a lot of discography films should be measured..shot in BW on purpose, not a low budget flick .. I know at least sevaeral universities who require the showing of this... otherwise its just great fun ....

This was my favorite of the Beatles movies/films. You can see they were at their height of popularity and exerted the vibe of excited newly-famed, youth. There is actually a story line (somewhat) in this movie, unlike some of the other Beatles films, and I personally enjoyed it the most (though Help! is in close second place, I think). Our disc ran well, though the case is cardboard and already has some fraying on the edges after only being used once or twice. I'd call it a must for any major Beatles fan.
Love this 2 disc edition of one of my favorite movies.
