    Maugham VS Mc Ewan

    Of course, Somerset Maugham precedes Ian Mc Ewan by a couple of gnerations. And certainly, Mc Ewans "Atonement" is not derivative of the "Painted Veil". Nevertheless, each story leaves the reader with an unanswered question, and each asks the reader if the protagonist merits forgiveness for a cardinal sin. Now if they only make a movie of "Atonement" we may be able to see beneath the painted veil. Ron Spiller

    Real Love

    This is an excellednt book set in 1925. Placed in both England and China. It is well written and shows how with love forgiveness and the real True Love is possible. There is also a movie made from this book that is very good that stars Edward Norton and Niami Watts. It goes along with the book better than most movie and I highly recomend it also.
