With this Canon camera, you can adjust the shutter speed from one second to 1/1000 of a second. This helps you take pictures of objects in motion. You also have the ability to use the built-in 8- or 10-second delay. This feature makes it possible to take family pictures without someone having to take the picture manually.The Canon FT QL is a manual camera that belongs to Canon's single-lens reflex, or SLR, family of film cameras. The Canon FT QL offers stop-down through-the-lens, or TTL, metering for excellent photographic results. The QL in the name of this camera stands for quick load. This Canon unit features a spring-loading hinge that helps you quickly load film. This feature ensures that you spend less time loading the camera and more time taking photos.The Canon FT QL is the flagship member of the FL family. This camera includes a wide array of features, including a multipurpose lever. When set toward the lens, the lever works as a depth-of-field preview setting. This same affect can be achieved by rotating the ring after the mount locks to “M” from “A.” If the same lever is pushed away from the lens, it works as a self-timer. If you look on the opposite side of where you attach the lenses, you will find the flash sync socket. Above this is the mirror lock-up switch.On the left side of the viewfinder is the compartment where you insert the battery. The battery in this Canon unit is used to power the camera's metering system. The check battery switch is located at the base of the rewind knob. The light or flash features a sync speed of 1/60. On the right side of the viewfinder is the dial that you use to control the shutter and film speed. The speed of the Canon device can be adjusted from ISO 25 to 1600. The speed of the cover is adjustable from one second to 1/1000 of a second. Being able to attach different lenses makes this Canon a great choice for any type of photography.The Canon FT QL features a lot of content and accessories as well. Underneath the unit is a standard tripod socket. Being able to mount the unit to a tripod can make photography easier. Also located on the bottom of the device are the film-access door and rewind release switch. This Canon FT QL features a black and metal design. The area of the unit covered in black features a textured grip. This prevents the unit from easily slipping out of your hands during use. Conventional sister to Pellix
The FT ql is a nice little camera for the manual shooter and film enthusiast. Works without a battery (except meter) should you loose power across a day of shooting. Solid construction. Vast number of inexpensive and really good FL lenses available. The downsides of this camera include a lack of hot shoe, very early and somewhat clunky TTL metering, and the pentaprisms are often showing signs of silver separation. The fact that it’s a 50 year old camera and while they often have some wear issues can be a great tool and a good value. I also have a collection of Canon Pellix cameras which have essentially the same body with a fixed pellical mirror. Both very well built and while the Pellix is a bit more unique the FT retains the same great user controls.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
