Initially I was a bit because after reviewing my purchase they looked black. However, once they arrived, It must've been a trick of lighting because they were indeed cordovan as described. Excellent value, considering the pair they were replacing were bought many years ago from a Johnston Murphy Outlet store and after wearing them a few times the must have been dyed incorrectly as the dye had rubbed off in places.
