Reviews
Down Beat (4/96, p.82) - "What a workout this young tenor player gives his horn, his band, his listeners! Alexander evinces strong ideas played in a stern, lean, never glib style and shows a sound, unslavish sense of bop tradition chorus after chorus....Alexander's band is killer....a totally honest smoker."
Additional information
Eric Alexander Sextet: Eric Alexander (tenor saxophone); John Swana (trumpet); Kenny Barron (piano); Peter Bernstein (guitar); Peter Washington (bass); Carl Allen (drums). Recorded at RPM Studio, New York, New York on January 3, 1994. Includes liner notes by Bob Bernotas. Personnel: Eric Alexander (tenor saxophone); Peter Bernstein (guitar); John Swana (trumpet); Kenny Barron (piano); Carl Allen (drums). Recording information: RPM Studio, New York, NY (01/03/1994). Photographer: Frans Schellekens. Eric Alexander is a very consistent tenor saxophonist, one who swings hard even if the chord changes are a bit complex. His tone is appealing and, like one of his influences, Dexter Gordon, he rarely seems to run out of ideas. For this sextet date with trumpeter John Swana, guitarist Peter Bernstein, pianist Kenny Barron, bassist Peter Washington, and drummer Carl Allen, Alexander contributed three very different originals and interprets a trio of standards plus Ahmad Jamal's "Night Mist Blues" and Cecil McBee's "Song of Her." Whether it be romps or sensitive ballads, Eric Alexander is in excellent form throughout this rewarding disc. ~ Scott Yanow

Excellent Quality. Brand New. Looks very Nice! Seller's price UNBEATABLE. I'd buy from this Seller again. Description spot on. Seller's communication XL+, very helpful & pleasant. Packaging XL+. I was afraid to open package. It's like opening a B'day present w/o the Gift wrap. Post cost's definitely XL+ being FREE. Excellent delivery time. Arrived earlier than predicted, considering our mail usually takes over 2wk 780km from the coast, bcoz we're remote. 10Q very much. XL+

The item was exactly as advertised, with no damage to the cover or pages. It was packed quite securely, with no chance to slip around and get bumped corners. The price was very affordable, considering it isn't easy to track down a copy. I only marked down one star because it took some time to ship out, which could have been better communicated in the listing. Still, highly recommend the seller.

Looks great, a very eye catching cover, capturing the essence of the subject. I couldn't be happier with my purchase (quality and condition exactly as described in the listing) and the service provided. Well priced, suitably packaged and to have my item arrive five days outside the original E.T.A is to be commended considering the hit and miss nature of our postal system. Outstanding, absolutely top shelf, can't recommend highly enough. A well deserved Five star rating for a Five star vendor.
