      Good Movie

For many reasons I didn't watch this movies for many years and now that I've seen it several times it's one that I wanted to add to my library. Like Days of Wine and Roses this is a harrowing tale about the damages done by alcohol both to the individual and to their family and friends.; the scene where he's picked up by the police and taken to the psych ward where the attendant tells him what his future will be is chilling as is the scene in the liquor store once he leaves the hospital. • Alcoholic Not So Anonymous

The classic rendition of the evils of alcoholism. It is well done and entertaining even though it deals with a depressing subject. It has the usual, old fashioned, happy ending but before that things are pretty stark and gritty. The featured players are very good in their roles and it garnered some Oscar awards.

    • 75 years old and still relevant

I always wanted to have my own copy of this film. I saw it many years ago when I was a young man and the drama always stayed with me. I'm glad that the DVD was available and less than $10. The DVD came within a week and I couldn't be more pleased with the transaction.
