Small but mighty
Really nice unit. When I play CD's, it counts the seconds, but I wish that it told what song number it is playing. This is a minor detail. Really easy to use. I like simple and this unit is that. I'm kind of electronically challenged, so there might be a way to show the number of the song and I just don't know how to make it do so. Would recommend this to anyone. So I watched at the end of a song and it does tell what number song you are on before it starts the count.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice, but
The Sony CFDS50BK boombox is pretty good for its size and price. I got it mainly to play my CDs, but I haven't been able to track select or skip on the CDs. So unless you want to hear the CD from start to finish this model is not for you. Does come equipped with AM and FM and cassette deck---- have many of those left?. Sometimes hard to figure out which button to push for what you want---still as a radio its excellent--good reception so far. I'd spend more time searching for a unit the next time that plays Cds with track selection and skip track. Does have forward--I'm not sure how far it advances with each selection.. Light and lovely
This radio performs well with excellent sound quality, but various controls are impossible to find in dim light, let alone in the dark. It takes touch sensitivity in order to operate. I personally don't want 20 FM stations & 10 AM stations; I only need a few FM stations to program settings.
I sent a question to customer support for programming radio stations. An immediate response but they simply sent me an email for the instruction pamphlet; I already have that. Good product for the price
I needed something compact next to my keyboard to play CDs. For the price, this is a good product. It's compact and the sound quality is good. (It also has a cassette tape player and a radio, neither of which I've used, but nice to have.) It's not something you want to drop though. It's mostly plastic and to me, it feels breakable. So I'm careful when I move it around. Knock it off the table and I fear it might be done for. I don't think it's as durable as the old boom boxes of the past. Boomed out
Purchased this for a birthday gift and it would not receiave any A.M. stations. F.M. worked perfect, think a wire to the antenna may not be connected didn't even get any static noise. Nice and Compact, Excellent Value, Great Volume
The only strange thing is the tape controls are backwards ("Play" points left). Otherwise, tape playback and record are excellent with good high frequency response. The only complaint is AM radio is slightly "muddy" even though "MEGA BASS" is off. FM audio and reception are very good. It also has nice preset controls. Good device for the money.
I bought this player for listening to my books on CD. Have had it for only a few weeks, but so far so good! I like that it's compact and gives the second count for every section of the book; helps to keep your place. Seems to be a good player for a very reasonable price.
