The SEGA Saturn console in black is a sleek system that offers play for an excellent selection of titles. An optional multitap accessory allows you to add up to 10 controllers so that you can really have a party with nine of your closest friends. In addition to a CD slot for the games, a cartridge slot is also included. The Saturn game system from SEGA offers additional controller options, including a 3D pad, an arcade racer, and a Model 2 controller. There are two separate types of game controllers that work with the Sony Saturn, including the original Saturn controllers and the Saturn 3D controllers. Like the earlier SEGA Genesis, the Saturn has a boxy design that features two ports for controllers on the front. The top has reset buttons and a power button. The Saturn from SEGA is a 32 bit console that has two Hitachi SH-2 processors that run at about 29 MHz. A custom Yamaha sound processor and an 11.29 MHz Motorola 68EC000 sound processor will provide you with fond memories of your favorite childhood games. The game console itself features display resolutions that range from 320 by 224 to 704 by 480 pixels, so your games will still be functional and playable even on modern televisions and screens. The entire SEGA Saturn system has a total of 11MB. The system RAM is about 4640KB, and you can use the RAM backup cartridges to expand the available memory. The Saturn from SEGA was also one of the first gaming devices capable of storing video game files right on the console, meaning you never had to worry about losing your game data right when you hit a boss level. This retro game console is compatible with NTSC CD-ROM game discs. You can nab a special cartridge that allows you to play the games that were only released in Japan to expand your collection. Ahh cant get enough of sega !!
This consoule is amazing love playing daytona USA amazing game great product fast and friendly shipping. Did i mention i cant get enough play non stop for 2 days now. Have not had this system sence i was 12 now im 33 and still loving it. All the games ive bought i cant stop playing them. Bring back so many great childhood memories my brother and i could never stop or get enough. Sega Saturn Rocks
For those who aren't familiar with the Sega Saturn, this is one of the most underrated game systems of all time. Many of the games are exclusive only to this system and you will not find emulations (e.g. Panzer Dragoon Saga) because of its complicated hardware. Make sure to pick up a cartridge that enables you to play Japanese games because some of the very best games were only released in Japan (Radiant Silvergun). Childhood Happiness
I was extremely pleased when the Saturn arrived, however when I opened the box it appeared the mail carrier had ignored the "Fragile" warning written on the box. The power button had been broken off and some of the side paneling was also smashed, but the game system still worked. Sega Saturn - The purchase was worth it!
The Sega Saturn is one of my favorite game consoles (and my favorite Sega system). So many under-appreciated classics on this console, both from the arcade (Virtua Fighter 2, Daytona USA, Virtual-On, Virtua Cop) and exclusive to the system itself (NiGHTS into Dreams, Burning Rangers, the Panzer Dragoon series). Japan-only titles make the console even better, since they have a number of solid exclusives and arcade-perfect ports (plenty of Capcom and SNK fighters to choose from). It is getting more expensive to collect for in the US, so I recommend picking one up when you get the chance. Why Sega should still be in the console market.
Original games, cool ideas, and great controllers are just some of the reasons to own a Sega Saturn. Saturn is certainly one of the most underrated consoles.
First Sega console I actually own *I have played a lot of genesis in the past though* and honestly it holds up very well. Still one of the best consoles ever released in my opinion, the only down side is that the games are very expensive and rare. I’m living my alternate future I created by buying the console of my childhood dreams. It is tons of fun and the system came looking great.
