Useful piece of technology, however, it has no speaker and I don't think it has a microphone. Even though it has "S Voice", I found that if it isn't in close proximity to the phone, it gives a network error, or simply can't hear you. If you get the Standalone version, (will have SIM card slot), it supposedly has a speaker and a microphone built-in.
Vibrate alert is not very effective for some reason. If you're sitting quietly, you can feel and hear it. If you're busy doing something it's easy to miss. I have a gear fit2, the vibration on it is very hard to miss.
Battery life is not very good unless all extras are turned off. Even then, not more than two days worth of used before you have to recharge. Wireless charger is a definite plus in that the contacts of my other watch tend to corrode after wear.
All in all, it's a good device, but you're better off saving your money and getting the newer version.
(REVISION)
Battery life getting shorter now. Not sure what is running it down so fast. I can only guess its because of how sensitive the function ring/bezel is. You only need to bump it to wake the device.
Got this for my son as a side item for his first droid phone which is a galaxy 3. He's 12 so...
Watch looks great, lots of functionality. Unfortunately, the first time he dropped it on the ground, the glass broke. Apparently, gorilla glass wasn't a thing yet when these were made.
Good watch, but glass isn't made for abuse.
