  • Very Possibly America's Best Satire

Dr. Strangelove is the perfect exhibition for Stanley Kubrick's ability to be a genius without color. His choice of Peter Sellers to play three (originally four but a warning heart attack adds the unsuspected humor of cowboy actor Slim Pickens) is not brave or origninal; it is, at the risk of repetition,GENIUS. Sellers' undersale of Group Captain Mandrake and Pres. Murphy Mumphly (is there anything better than his one-sided ab-lib conversations with the Soviet premier? no.)to the over-the-top Kissingeresque Strangelove ("MEIN FURHER! I CAN WALK) are a treat EVERY TIME I watch this classic. And don't get me started about the surprising comedic timing of George C. Scott! If you have never seen this movie, buy it. If you have seen this movie more times than you can count, buy it. It makes the world a better place and reminds us that politics has NEVER made sense. May I give it about sixteen more stars? I love this movie so much I force my 180 high school junior students to watch it EVERY YEAR. EVEN THE JADED IPHONE GENERATION FINDS THIS FUNNY!!! It is important and HILARIOUS. It makes me want to duck and cover and kiss my a** goodbye. Even if your dvd collection is four movies, this should be one of them.

  • Still Stands As The Top-5 Animated Scooby-Doo Movies

While I already own this second Scooby-Doo animated movie, I bought this one for a friend as a Christmas gift since he told me that he didn't own one early last year. But in any other case, when it comes to this animated film, it was a nice-touch of bringing in Tim Curry since he said in an interview many years ago that he is a big fan of Scooby-Doo. The music from The Hex Girls was also good. I truly recommend buying this movie for the 'entire' family; in time for fall-season.

  • Scary good

When this movie first came out I thought it was a dark and funny spoof. Watching it now, some fifty years later, it still has funny moments, but I found it to be chilling. Some of the technology may be antiquated, but the possibility that one nutcase can precipitate the apocalypse still seems plausible.

  • Cult classic with comedy that probably doesn't age well, but still funny. Sim Pickens riding a nuke!

Seller provided a good quality DVD at a great price!

  • An Immortal Classic.

Still a riot, and thought provoking over fifty years after it first came out. I saw this movie in a base theater on a SAC base. The audience, people who were always on the brink of WWIII were cold at first but wound up laughing their heads off, as I was. Still very relevant.

  • Good entertainment

An interesting movie to say the least, but also scary because this could possibly happen in our life time. The movie was well done and very entertaining!

  • Comedy. Genius.

Well, I’ve always been a Peter Sellers fan from a long time ago so that in itself has been a goal to collect some of the old classics. Specially, by some of those actors are no longer around.

  • Great comedic film about cold war tensions

What a great film starring Peter Sellers in three roles, George C. Scott, Sterling Hayden, Keenan Wynn and Slim Pickens. Tracy Reed (the only female parts in the film) also appears in two rolls. The film is directed by Stanley Kubrick. This is a black comedy about an "accidental" nuclear attack. It was nominated for four academy awards in 1964. The film still seems relevant today. The ending scene with Slim Pickens is a classic moment in motion pictures. If you've never viewed this movie check it out, if you have seen it see it again, it never gets old.
