Seit Version 12 besitzt AutoCAD eine MS-Windows-kompatible Benut- zungsoberflache. Damit integriert es sich harmonisch in die Benutzungsober- flache des Personalcomputers. Das Programm wird von allen fur den Pe-Markt verfugbaren Graphikkarten, in der Regel sogar mit speziell optimierten Treibern unterstutzt. Neue Produk- te werden sofort mit den fur AutoCAD geeigneten Geratetreibern ausgeliefert. Damit ist AutoCAD ein de facto Industriestandard. Die marktbeherrschende Position von AutoCAD als fuhrendes CAD-System fur Personalcomputer will Autodesk weiter ausbauen. Deshalb erfolgte im Ok- tober 1996 auch die Ankundigung. in Zukunft nur noch die Version fur die Microsoft Betriebssysteme Windows95 und WindowsNT weiterzuentwickeln. AutoCAD ist mit seiner konsequenten Einbindung in die Benutzungsoberflache der unterstutzten Plattformen individuell auf alle Bedurfnisse an pass bar. Der Datenaustausch zwischen allen unterstutzten Plattformen ist moeglich.
