Compatibility with Multiple Branded Refrigerators
Compatible with multiple brand refrigerators with ice maker option, not just GE. Interesting how so many brands I thought were independent are actually associated today. For me this was for a new GE refrigerator. Installers took only minutes to place/hookup in the refrigerator.

Yes, it works... albeit slowly.
I have misgivings about this automatic ice maker. It yields less than half the ice production of the 21-year-old ice maker in my old Maytag refrigerator/freezer, at the same 12° F. The problem is not the rate at which the water freezes inside it, but rather how long the unit takes before the unit ejects ice into the bucket and refills with fresh water. There is nothing to adjust. Recommendation and value responses are pointless, as buyers have the limited choice of installing this or simply using ice trays. A single ice tray, while slightly less convenient, can produce much more ice in the same amount of time, versus this automatic ice maker.

Very good, complete set. Works as expected
This set includes everything you need to add it to the GE refrigerator except a hose from the wall to refrigerator ($8 - $30). Installation is not complicated if you use a common sense. Keep in mind that instruction is partially confusing. Another point. My refrigerator mentioned IM4 icemaker, while this one is IM4D. I had one part (hard plastic water pipe) installed already. This part didn't match requirements and it was difficult to get rid if it. Summary. I'm really happy that I ordered it. Price is low (GE). Works great if you must use GE. Try to avoid GE if you have a choice. But it is my personal experience.

Great Item. Easy Install. Fantastic Price. Red Label as Per Required by Hotpoint. Makes Plenty Of Ice Cubes. Make Sure to Use 1/4 Inch Tubing for Installation or Will Not Function Properly.

Great item at a fantastic price!
It works great! Puts out ice often and keeps the bin full unless I need to turn it off when it's in danger of overflowing. Installation was fairly easy, but I had to have my son come and finish it (couldn't find the plug in). And, it was much cheaper than if I had bought one from GE.
