Gauge is deceiving.
Wire is OFC and was listed as 4 gauge really more of 6 gauge in my opinion. Very thick cladding surrounding copper. Cladding is nice an flexible and easy to pull though. The midi anl fuse holder is oddly designed for taking the fuse in and out but well sealed from elements. For the rating this kit holds for wattage the supplied speaker wires are way to thin. Still reasonable on pricing for OFC vs CCA wiring kits.Wire is OFC and was listed as 4 gauge really more of 6 gauge in my opinion. Very thick cladding surrounding copper. Bought this amp kit based off of it's description and the description is not correct. It says the wire is 100% OFC copper.... It is not. It is at best, 50% copper and at minimum 50% tin!!! It won't flow enough electricity to power up a 800 watt pioneer amp. I tested the amp with my 0 gauge Memphis audio 100% OFC copper wire and the amp still worked just fine but won't even power up enough with this stinger kit to even make the subs "burp" for a second. If I would've known this before I installed it, I would've left a not so nice feedback plus I would've sent it back. DO NOT BUY!!!!! Copper is more expensive for a reason....It's way better.
If you are installing your system in a 4 door sedan than this will work great for you. The kit is high quality and of proper size to accommodate the listed wattage. My amp was 980 watts and is working great. The metal is tinned copper and is a breeze to install. Copper serves to critical benefits, first it flexes and bends making it much easier to install, and second it is much more conductive, make a smaller wire carry more amps. The fuse and other items in the kit are also high quality. The only con I can see is cable length. If you are installing this in a large SUV you may want to purchase a longer power wire because I had to install this on the back seat, I did not have enough length to reach mid trunk. The RCA and other cables are also high quality.If you are installing your system in a 4 door sedan than this will work great for you. Happy with it except the 16 gauge speaker wire , I thought it should of been heavier for 1000 watt . Other than that good kit very flexible power wire .
