  • A fun 60s sci-fi film that's almost nothing to do with the book.

A fun 60s sci-fi film. Nice views of Lincolns Inn Fields in the early minutes. Some good acting from the couple trapped in the lighthouse - accompanied by powerful screams and even more powerful backing music! Very little to do with the original book. They keep the names of some characters like Coker and assign them to entirely different types of person. There's a nice small role for Carole Ann Ford who later found fame as Susan in the first Dr Who stories. If I remember correctly it is rated 15 though I can't imagine why. There's nothing to offend and quite a lot to enjoy as long as you don't expect to see a film of the book.

I enjoyed the film when it first came out, However I remembered the picture quality being far better . The dvd has a pinkish tint to the colour which spoilt it for me as well as in parts the picture was not sharp So in a word dissapointing
