... been a disciple of ZZ Top since 1971 & I wish to pay homage upon the altars of the "Righteous Reverend" Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Mr. Frank Beard....... this CD is nothings short of Texas style snarl, grit, and in your face boogie.... buy it, and see the light !

This mid-1990's release saw the band back to their roots and back to how they got their start on the first 6 studio releases from the 1970's. After some very popular 80's synthesizer years, ZZ Top went back to the beginnings of their form with a bluesy, gritty, raw and outstanding release called Rhythmeen. If you liked the early years of the band, you'll love this one too!
Of all the weird albums ZZ Top put out after the height of their fame, this is the best one

RHYTHMEEN was the second album of ZZ Top's RCA era. It is the most criminally overlooked and underrated CD of the band's entire catalog. This is not the sound that ZZ Top laid down on TRES HOMBRES or ELIMINATOR; it's grunge-y, down-tuned, tuff & nasty blues/rock. Thematically, the disc feels like a roadtrip from New Orleans to Tijuana, staying on the seedy side of the street all the way. Great tunes--Great tones--Great Disc!
