This is a pretty good product, with few downsides. One thing I would do is include some sort of stiffening wire to hold it more rigidly. The vinyl tends to sag a bit, and the unit is a bit floppy when set up... That being said, it works well. So far, I started out with a simple hotdog, which warmed right up, and the next day I put some cream of mushroom soup and boneless pork chops into the silicone pot (the pot is a good idea- I like it). We pointed it toward the noon sun, or where the noon sun would be, and let it cook all day. When we got back from a long day we took it in and opened it. The Pork Chops were cooked well and it was delicious. Overall, we are pleased, and are excited to use it on the foredeck of our sailboat while we are at anchor.

I would get the larger one they sell instead of this one. I think i could make a solar cooker myself after looking at how this is constructed. So for the money i spent i could have got materials together and built a larger one myself.

Having seen solar oven fails on the gadget show on tv, I was dubious about this relatively cheap option. I ordered nonetheless and got to try it today. It was just 21 Celsius at 11:10 here in my part of the uk, I set up and tried to cook baked beans. It’s 14:10 now, 23 Celsius and I am eating hot beans! Considering it has been slightly cloudy / overcast , I am impressed. I look forward to trying something more ambitious in hotter brighter weather as we approach summer!
