Reviews
8 out of 10 - "...captures their kinetic energy, arrogant brilliance and ferocious interplay at its peak, a direct challenge and assault on the venerable institution where it was broadcast...", "...a whole lot of fun, an alternative early greatest hits, and the nearest approximation you'll get to the MY GENERATION album on CD....making you realise how great The Who were...", 4 stars out of 5 - "...highlights how mad, bad and dangerous the Who were in 1965....delineating how the band resolved social and musical anxieties of the age...", "...the energy levels are high throughout....the disc's worth buying for Pete Townshend's searing solo on 'Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere' alone...", 4 stars out of 5 - "...they sound like The New World wrestling with the Old....the sound of a culture clash is unmistakable....BBC SESSIONS proves that it was the high point of pop radio that allowed their message to be perfectly suited to the medium..."

Service was ok, not great. Record was very sloppily packaged and they screwed up my address -- luckily the post office figured it out no thanks to the seller. The record was cheap and the shipping was free so it's hard to complain, but I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone buying expensive items from this seller.

Very well packaged and in the as described condition too. I’m so happy with it and would come back for more if I can. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this seller and the very fast and well packaged items too. I would go back for more as I said but at the moment I don’t have the space !! Perfect addition to any collection !!!

  • Good...but could have been better.

I love The Who but this collection is a bit of a mixed bag. As it is a collection of BBC sessions there is a little too much over emphasis that the tracks are recorded for the BBC. The disc is bookended by two BBC jingles (plagerised versions of My Generation and Boris the Spider)....talkin' about my favourite station!.....really! I could have done without hearing those. Some other the other tracks are introduced by cheesy Radio One DJ voice overs. All in all an excellent collection and I'm glad I've got it but when it comes to playing a Who compilation I'll probably choose "Whose Better Who's Best " or "Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy" more often than this. "The Kids Are Alright" is also a strong contender if you want The Who live...and why wouldn't you?

  • A historic collection

From "Anyway,Anyhow,Anywhere" transmitted in May 1965 to "Long Live Rock" Ist transmitted in January 1973, this is a fantastic and unforgettable journey through 26 radio tracks which showcase THE WHO's inimitable talents. A must have for any serious collectors library.
