Nice open comb (rake) razor
I've never thought of buying a Parker before, instead opting to by many Merkur, Muhle, Edwin Jagger and old Gillettes of many models. However, I thought I'd give the 24C a look just in case I'd got it all wrong. Well, I had!
The 24C is a nice razor. The knurling is very grippy and will definitely not slip. The chrome finish to the razor handle and head is good enough and on par with most razors I own, with only the Muhle and Edwin Jagger shading the contest.
It gives a very close shave and is slightly less aggressive than the Muhle R41. One word of warning, let the weight of the razor alone do the cutting without adding pressure, else you'll feel the burn for most of the morning.
The razor gives good feedback and you can hear it cutting the bristles, pretty much like you do when using a cutthroat. I'm currently using the 24C as my daily razor, relegating the Merkur Progress to the shelf, for now anyway.
Would I recommend the Parker 24c... Yes I would.
