As a semi-profesisonal artist I spend a lot of time making sure the materials I use are the best for the job at hand. this means I look at the type of pencil, the type of pad and even the specifics of an eraser when I'm doing drawings and sketches. Over the past few years I've chosen the Daler Rowney sketch pads. specifically the Red & Yellow range. I work in A6 and A5 for much of my work and these are great sizes to put in your pocket. I travel with them on planes, too, so I can sketch whilst flying. Now, for some commissions I work to A4 or A3 size. There's just enough texture on the paper to 'grip' my chosen, favourite artist pencils and being spiral-bound, I know the sketch won't get pulled out from the pad by mistake. I cut the finished sketch out using a stanley knife behind the perforations. I have tried other art pads from other manufactuers by these are the ones I find work best for me.Read full review

I am an artist who draws and sketches with ink, using a fountain pen; and this paper is great for drawing and sketching. A very good product.

The quality and weight of the paper is good. The backboard is strong. But the cover is flimsy and gives little protection to the sketchbook.
