Compaq 8200 Elite CMT ATX Power Suppy Conversion
For Pin # reference the green wire 'PS On" wire on original 6 pin P2 connector is Pin 3. Move the green wire to Pin 3 on the new P2 connector. The empty reserved slots on the original P2 connector are pins 5 + 6. No wire needs to be connected to pins 5 + 6. Leave Pin 1 "FAN CMD" empty as the Black and Red wires on the new P2 connector go to ground pins 17 + 18 on the 24 pin ATX connector. The Yellow wire Power Good wire goes to PIN 4. Cut the Red wire close to the 24 pin AXT connector. Connect cut end of the red wire to the TAC signal gray wire of the Chassis Fan. The other end of the red wire goes in slot 2 of the new P2 connector. Pin 1 slot leave empty Pin2 slot red (connect the other end to chassis fan tac wire, my wire was gray) Pin3 slot green Power on (pin 16 on 24 pin ATX ... High value even if just used for diagnostics.
This is a high quality adapter cable that allows you to put a standard power supply in the place of a proprietary HP power supply in some models. My cable was expertly packed, shipped quickly and arrived early. In my HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Tower PC I needed a larger power supply to run a video card so my original PSU was still good so cutting off the cable to make the adapter myself wasn't a good idea. Unfortunately the new adapter does not include a way to sense the PSU fan speed that the BIOS expects so you'll have to get used to hitting F1 every startup, this also would preclude any unattended startup or automated restarting after a power failure. 8300 CMT and SFF
Item works perfect for using your own PSU for a HP 8300 CMT and SFF. All you have to do is swap the white(pin 3) and green(pin 2) wire with each other on the 6-pin connector and it will work for your HP 8300.

After many hours of Re-pinning I figured out how to make the wire work on a Hp elite even though it was not recommended for my P.C. I recommend you buy it and give it a go. AYA is the best when they come to customer service and they are friendly and very awesome.
