    Handy item for the tool box

    Very easy to use. Did found it a bit hard to grip.. It nearly slid out of my hands a couple of times. Instruction booklet easy to understand. It's just hard to understand whether to remove the batteries between uses or not. Good value for money

    Not useful for locating ceiling joists.

    Found it very hard to get accurate readings on the ceiling joists. I was using it to locate joists to install new fire alarms. It seemed like it did not operate well when used upside down. I tried it on the walls and it worked much better. When upside down, it was as though it lost it's own calibration.

    It's very good if you don't care about sound feedback

    The quality is excellent. It's very compact and very accurate. The only thing that I actually need the most is sound feedback. Or a beeping indicator on top of the LED indicators. Which it doesn't have. It has only LED indicators which are perfect for someone that doesn't care about a beeping noise. If you are colour blind and you can't distinguish the difference between green and red on LED. Then it's not for you. Otherwise it's very rugged.

    Missed the mark, spend more money and buy the better version

    I purchased this unit prior to doing some research. The unit is alright if you just wanted to use it once. But its no way as accurate as the Stanley S160 which I also bought and then used with greater accuracy
