Small and handy little amp modeler / multi-effect "pedal" with wide tone customizability. Quick to learn, easy to use, good quality when recording. The factory tones weren't that great though, but making your own tones or downloading community-made tones from Line6 CustomTone will change that. The utilities for PC (Gearbox, PodFarm) are pretty crude visually, but work wonders when you are installing / making your own tones.

Hi, I have several line 6 products- 1- flextone II plus amp-- Great amp.. 1-pod xt desktop-great sounding processor - 1-xt pro { with all the model packs loaded in it } I LOVE IT. I bought the pod x3 desktop off e-bay becouse of all the hype from line 6- It's ok but i personally don't think it comes close to the xt pro. It has a few cool efx but i play classic rock, blues, alternative and soul and the cool tones are geared more toward space head music and burning metal.Needless to say it was all hype to sell the new product- I'm sticking with my xt pro which i use plugged into my efx in jack on my amp.{ also great in my studio }.I have used this amp live on stage { flextone II plus } on some huge stages { miked of corse } I still have my old 80's amps { marshall 2210 100 watt tube stack and a mesa boogie v twin & 50/50 half stack } Which got to be too much to haul- I love the sound of the flex with the xt pro- easy to haul and sometimes i take a extra 2-12 8 ohm cab to plug into the amp- which makes it stereo- The guys on the other side of the stage love it. For all kinds of music the xt has more to offer from the cleanest clean to rippin lead sounds { even has space sounds too }-AND IT'S EASIER TO PROGRAM..Read full review
I know there are a lot of folks who will say, “Oh nothing sounds like Amp X but Amp X..” but I don’t want to sound like every other monkey with a Diezel VH4 or Bogner Ecstasy, but there are some elements of those sounds and many others that I find inspiring, and that speak to me on a musical level. And the X3 gives you those starting points in spades! Ive completely revamped my rig around it, and have planned some other additions based on it. I found mine for less than $150, and I’d say I’d easily pay twice that.

If you have difficulty getting solid recordings in your home due to poor room dynamics or a sleeping wife this is a solid product to get your ideas down, sound good in a mix with minimal EQ and work. Met my needs as I expected. Have a PODxt and wanted the dual amp ability.
