I enjoyed this DVD. I remember watching the Superman 🦸♂️cartoons on CBS when they aired. I also like the punch lines at the end of the episode example when Superman 🦸♂️battles a giant lobster 🦞in one episode at the end Perry White offers to bring Clark Kent to eat lobster 🦞. I recommend this DVD 📀much better than the ones that came 30 years later.

It's as wonderfully horrible as you can imagine a Filmation version of Superman to be! Hardcore fans will love it, because it's stories you haven't seen yet {though there's some overlapping with the classic serial cartoons & even with the 1990s animated series!} Filmation fans will love it, because it's classic stock-footage animation with the occasional miscoloured frames. I expected something akin to the Super Friends series & I was rewarded with something more {& less!} Some inconsistencies in the story telling {2 different green-skinned war-like space-faring alien races from the same nearby moon!?} but all-in-all, any1 who enjoyed the Super Friends, Batman & the Super 7, the Mighty Orbots, the GoBots, TransFormers & all those awesome 1980s cartoons, will find something enjoyable in this gem from the 1960s. Lois Lane's nowhere near as independent or strong-willed as she's been in every other presentation of the story of Superman, but it's secondary to everything else that's going on in the uber-short {6 minutes each} episodes. But there's an awesome amount of storytelling in those 6 minutes! I strongly recommend this to all fans of superhero cartoons, good {the 1990s Superman & Batman shows, as well as the 2 newer Batman shows} or bad {1960s Spider-Man, He-Man & the Masters of the Universe}!Read full review
This Superman animated series by filmation, is the best animated representation of Superman you will find. The characters look exactly like the comics of the 60s, the animation is great, the voice acting is excellent, and the musical score punchy. The cartoon has a 1960s nostalgic feel and works as a continuation of the live action 1950s series starring George Reeves with more emphasis on outer space and science fiction. A must for any superman fan!

I bought this product for a friend who is in to collecting super hero related items. We decided that since he had it we minds as well watch it, slightly hesitant at first, but looking back on the experience I am extremely happy with how the series rolled out. I wouldn't suggest throwing a party around watching this series, but it's definitely a must for any superman fans. Also if you have a few friends who are into superman and like watching older shows for a few good laughs then I highly recommend The new adventures of superman!!! (Laughing at some of the "Woooow why would they do that?" parts didn't ruin the awesomeness of this series at all)
A rather important cartoon for animation history and Superman alike, and hearing the radio cast coming back is almost worth it alone, but these cartoons are very much animated counterparts to the Silver Age comics.
