this thing is awesome. even though its several generations old, it was a flagship phone in its time and its still more powerful than modern mid-range phones. its also very well built in a way that makes it easy to swap parts by hand. i pulled together several broken s4's and made a working phone for half the price it would cost me to get a used mid-range phone or to buy a fully working one of these used. benchmarking this thing gave me scores 3x what i got in my previous phone, a blu vivo 5. the blu wasnt a bad phone by any means, and i have to say that its oled seems a lot better than this one, but theres something wrong with the power connection on mine and good luck opening that thing and swapping out any components. this s4 is also extremely light, weighing much less than my old moto g, even though that was a much smaller phone. my only complaint is that the battery life is terrible, but its also removeable, which is nice. with very light use, you might be able to make it through the day. with moderate to heavy use, you'll be recharging it halfway through the day. you'll want to have a good powerbank or extra battery on hand to reliably make it through the day. enough for two recharges with heavy use. that being said, it charges very quickly, and a good powerbank (at least 5000 mah and 2.1amps) is not hard to get.Read full review

These phones are great. Tried to replace an old one that we damaged. We took it to the sprint store because it was locked to sprint and tried to port our number. It took a SIM card the store couldn’t get. So it sits on a shelf now.

I love the Galaxy S4 device, but being a bigger fan of Stock/AOSP style Android, I usually have to switch from the stock ROM on the device to something like Cyanogenmod. The phone and hardware itself is great. One downside to the device is the AMOLED screen being prone to ghosting and burn-in, which the one I purchased from here has. It was not mentioned in the description of the device so I figured i was safe from it, but nope. Unfortunate as that is, don't let that discourage you... just make sure whoever you're buying from offers returns in case the product does not arrive as described. Fortunately I got a good enough deal that I don't feel it's necessary to return my product, though many people probably would. One other thing I can't recommend highly enough, especially on the TouchWiz ROMs most people will be using, is an extended battery. This phone is pretty relentless when it comes to battery drain. I have purchased the 7500mAh ZeroLemon Extended Battery for this phone and haven't had any problems. It will get through a day or more of medium-heavy usage and comes with a decently protective TPU case to cover the phone and battery.Read full review

My first Samsung phone and I like it. Just wish the battery lasted a little longer. I also noticed the music doesn't play as loud as my last ZTE phone. The picture quality is much sharper though. Has a good amount of memory as well. Overall I think it's a good phone.

The Galaxy S4 is a very nice phone. But the volume buttons are right across from the power switch and if you are switching the phone to standby you can inadvertently shut off the ringer volume. The screen is very sharp, nice. When the phone auto updated to Android 5.01 it brought along some features that I would like to trash. I am still trying to get the phone setup the way my S3 was but some of the apps I had are not available any more. All in all, it is a very nice phone it is bigger than my old S3 but smaller than the newer ones. It is faster than the S3. The camera is very nice. I haven't tried video yet, but the specs are great. This was a very good buy.
