Complex material but this is one of the pioneering publications about the Cell. It is a daunting-sized book but will be a key source when the reader wishes to master the material covered in this topic of biology. I also purchased the companion Problems publication and will be trying to further my understanding as I work on my doctorate. This item came with dog-eared pages that must have occurred during shipment but I was able to resolve the problem without losing pages or other destruction. I would order from the vendor in the future but suggesting better packaging for a book of this size needs additional investigation. Perhaps, adding additional binding to the book before placing it into the shipping packaging.

i bought this book to improve my knowledge of molecular biology before graduate school. this book was used at my university (UC Berkeley) in classes that i never had the chance to take. so i thought it was worth buying the book to study over the summer, and to have as a reference.....and it was well worth. the book is detailed, in depth, and complete with easy to understand graphics and layout. its big, heavy, and daunting, but it is also full of information i know i need.
Stunning in its detail of the complexity of biochemical reactions and where they occur in the organelles in the cells it’s hard to believe that this could have happened by random, unguided chance. Clearly we have been “fearfully amd wonderfully made;” intelligently designed by The Intelligent Designer as revealed in the pages of the Holy Scriptures.
