A fantastic CD with real chill out music. A must for my collection.

This album has such classics by Jean Michel Jarre as Oxygene 4 wich is probably the most well known song of his on this album. The sound quality is what you would expect on an CD. Uncompromised raw with no crappy mp3 comression which you get from some of those places which sell music for download. As an used CD the condition was pretty good, no skips or anything like that. The case had no cracks in it and was in good condition.
An excellent CD which I purchased to replace my vinyl record. This is far better. Recommended.

In the mid seventies whilst musicians were engrossed in prog rock, punk and glam, Frenchman Jean Michel Jarre was playing with synthesizers, and thus created this fantastic album starting the electronic musical revolution. A whole album of continuous electronic music had never been so successful before - even Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" (another '70s instrumental classic) was created using traditional instruments and vocals. Kraftwerk, still an embryonic band, were more of a electronic-synth-pop singles group. "Oxygene" contains no vocals, a sampler didn't exist back then so each piece of music is intricately played by Jarre himself on several synthesizers. Although the album might sound crude next to today's electronica, it's an obvious precursor to the chill-out music favoured in the 1990s. Without this album there would be no Orbital, Future Sound of London or The Orb. Standout pieces are "Oxygene" Parts II, V, VI and the well-known Part IV. However this album must be appreciated in its entirety preferably with headphones on.Read full review
