I have used an X rocker pro for a few years and love the electronics and sound but the comfort left a lot to be desired so I thought I would try one of these. I ordered one from a seller but he sent a basic chair which after a struggle went back so I bought new from Argos as the price had come down a fair bit. I have to say I am impressed. The chair is very comfortable and I like how it can be locked in infinite reclining positions. Very soft feel faux leather helps and unlike the pro, this has decent back support and good thigh support. I spend a lot of gaming time using headphones so stereo sound is often enough though it would be nice to have some bass rumble. The sound gotten through the speakers is more or less similar to headphones but possibly quieter tone. I like the way the sound is made using a battery rather than having to plug the chair into a mains outlet - much like a battery you would find in a cordless phone at home - so charge it then drop the mains/charger (which is USB voltage). It is a pity that there is no wifi sender available so then the chair would become a truly independent chair from wires. As it is, I have to connect the chair to the console with a phono lead and while some adaptors are supplied which are possibly enough for basic connections I think most people will probably want more like I did. The chair arrived very quickly all credit to Argos (on eBay) and was well packaged. Assembly took about 20 minutes and in places it helped to have an extra pair of hands but they were not essential. At first I thought the electronics were not working but it turns out that to switch the sound on the 'on' button has to be held for a few seconds until a chime lets you know it is actually on. Volume is not too fantastic but if connecting the chair to a TV out of some sort such as the headphone socket then that volume can be cranked up a little. As yet I have not tried bluetooth. All in all worth the chair is worth the £160 that I paid.Read full review
