These headphones are excellent daily drivers, but some caveats need to be noted. As per the title, the soundstage is awful - While there's just enough room to accurately gauge where a sound, instrument, etc. is coming from, it's certainly quite tight, even compared to some IEMs. Bass is recessed compared to a neutral/studio headphone, and treble is bright/accentuated, as noticed by others. In addition, the stock earpads may not fit very large ears.

The audio quality of these head phones is good, but the noise reduction is not great. It is helpful, but not nearly as much isolation from outside noise as I had hoped for. My primary purpose in purchasing them was to get more isolation from the ambient house audio while playing in the church band. They are helpful, to a degree. Enough so that I have decided to keep them. Previously I used Bose "around the ear", which are good phones, but they do not provide much isolation. I specifically need "around the ear" rather than "on the ear", and that is the reason I chose the Audio Technicia, because they were on of the very few "around the ear".

Excellent quality head phones at a reasonable price. Good range of sound, comfortable to wear for extended periods of time and the noise-cancelling feature works great.

This set of wired headphones with battery operated noise cancellation is what I expected: excellent sound and comfortable around the ears even after hours of use. Consumer Reports was right to list this set as top of their class in review.
