Sensitive Thermometer
This item appears to be good for it's intended purpose. It's very sensitive to the type of battery you use. It will only work properly with good quality alkaline batteries. I tried cheaper Heavy Duty type batteries without good results. The sensors are very slow to react to temp changes. They took about 45 minutes to go from room temp to their actual refrigerator/freezer temps. We'll see how they hold up over time.This item appears to be good for it's intended purpose. This is my second purchase of this product because the first set stopped working. The idea is sound and the technology is available but the results are less than desired. Right out of the package, one of the sensors doesn't work properly giving incorrect readings and/or simply failing to send to the monitor. This was verified by a mercury thermometer placed in the freezer next to the sensor. I require a remote monitor but if you don't need that feature, get a wired sensor--you'll be happier.This is my second purchase of this product because the first set stopped working. Does its job well
I was very pleased with this. I tried to stay away from buying the cheap China ones for $7 and it shows this is better quality. My freezer is in the basement and I have the digital alarm upstairs. It reaches fine through the floor. I tested it by leaving the sensor out for 15 minutes and the alarm went off. It was loud enough to be heard through out my upstairs. It's just loud enough to let you know the freezer isn't working but it's way less loud compared to a smoke alarm. This won't hurt your ears. Only complaint is that the suction cup won't stick to the inside of the freezer but it tells you that in the instructions.I was very pleased with this. Raises my internal temperature!
Instructions say the high and low alarm temps can be changed and gives directions. HA. IN A PIGS EYE! The inputs do not change the alarm temps but do confuse the readings on the device. Add claims it reads up to 75 feet. HA. IN A PIGS EYE. I am trying to monitor a freezer about 20 feet and two walls from a separate refrigerator. It will read the temperature on either if I attach it to the unit's outside, but will not receive input from the other. Add claims it will alarm if the max or min temperature is exceeded. HA. IN A PIGS EYE. The alarm has gone off numerous times when the limit is max -2 deg F and min is - 22 deg F. Temp on unit showed -4 and -5 and -3 when the alarm was sounding. Accurate Refrigerator/Freezer wireless thermometer
So happy to find Accurite brand in this product. Their wireless thefmoters I have had in the past have outlasted any other brands I have tried. I ordered this one without the packaging but it worked fine. Their manual could be better written. Still can’t figure out how to set alarms fully. But easy to install and gives me current temps and high and low. Was able to set some of the alarm limits sknam satisfied. It is a quiet alarm would not hear it if frig was in another room with door closed like a garage. But can hear it when in the same room.So happy to find Accurite brand in this product.
