Well made heavy duty Vivitar 285 hot shoe replacement.
This part repaired my Vivitar 285 which had a broken plastic hot shoe. The external cable port is now a send signal port instead of an input port. The test button works and the hot shoe works with a slave trigger. Good heavy duty hot shoe and fits perfectly. This old flash can no longer be used on newer digital cameras due to the voltage present in the hot shoe. But that's OK since it is now triggered by the slave. I found instructions on replacing the hot shoe on youtube, search for Vivitar 285 hot shoe replacement.This part repaired my Vivitar 285 which had a broken plastic hot shoe. Vivitar 283 285 285HV Flash Metal Replacement Foot it is somewhat easy to replace, and once it is install it will work perfectly, just remember no to use it directly on your camera or it will fry your camera because the foot is all metal, just use it with a radio trigger.

Pretty good replacement
I bought this to use with my vivitar 285, and I can safely say it's much better than the original foot. The bulk of it is made of metal is and is well built. The issue I found was wiring this to my 285. There are two contacts on the new foot, where the old one had four. Thankfully there was a thread online that discussed this.
