As expected with Disney/Pixar, this film has beautiful animation and funny, interesting characters. While it was not a profound experience it is a nicely told and enjoyable story. I would rate the story as PG. There's no sex or harsh language but there are fight scenes with a bad guy and characters face danger in parts of the film. So, it might not be suitable for very children, but any child over 8 should be completely fine with it in my estimation. I purchased a used DVD of this film primarily after discovering that iTunes wouldn't allow me to rent it, but would only sell it to me (virtually, but only on their own platform) for twenty bucks. That's more than it would have cost to see it on the big screen. I now own the DVD and I can watch it anywhere without Apple controlling my access. It's a far better deal.Read full review

My copy was 100% a bootleg. The artwork on the back of the jacket was pixelated, a few scenes in the movie got a little pixelated in parts, and the writing on the disc has rough edges. But it plays in our player, cost $7 shipped, and it's for my kid not me. So who cares. Good bootleg, dude.

The movie itself is a wonderful adventure, it really gets you pumped and wanting more. Granted you have some scenes that are over played a bit, but you can easily look past that. One such scene is when Hiro and Baymax are flying over the city, it was just a way to market the 3D when it was in theaters. But like I said you can look past that with no issues. It does have a great soundtrack, and the plot is wonderful for a lot of reasons. It has just the right mix of comedy and action, one isn't overshadowing the other like with other movies. The characters are a great escape, and offer a very unique look at different types of intellect. Highly recommended, and a must have for any collection.

When my kids were growing up , I saw every cartoon movie that came out. Then they went to computer generated cartoons. Most of them were low budget on the graphics. Whenever my family puts in a cartoon movie, I usually run for cover. However, when I saw this cover , I gave this one a chance. I was glad I did. Very good story line and great graphics. The only thing that pulled me away from the show was getting a snack. The best since How to train your dragon. (which is another cartoon I Did watch)...........................mh

My two boys with a diagnosis of autism had been asking me to rent this movie for about 2 months. I finally did - one week before their Grandpa passed away. It was the perfect thing - dealing with life and death and the choices we make - i.e. sadness, anger, revenge, using our gifts for a good or bad purpose, friendship and commitment - and what that means. It is done in an exciting, visual way. After renting the movie, we immediately bought it and have watched it many times over as a family - discussing the content and our own emotions, dreams, etc. I highly recommend it as quality family entertainment.
