Great Drumhead!
I've been trying out different manufacturers of drum heads lately, and decided to put this on my DW acrylic kick drum. I changed it out AFTER doing a soundcheck at an outdoor venue, and immediately was impressed with it. I looked at YouTube vids and zoomed in to look at what non-factory kits had on them. Most had the regular Emad, but I wanted to try this HEAVYWEIGHT version. I love it!! Great EQ'd kick batter
For hard hitting music this is an awesome head. Very little muffling needed to get a tight sound out of it with either the small or larger muffling ring. I would never recommend for an open sound. I find it is unusable without the muffling ring installed do to the head flapping around which is very audible through a mic.

A match to a predecessor application: The Evans Batter Head did the trick!
It is the professional substitute for an old pillow in the bass drum. In a small room with hard surfaces damping that bass drum loudnesas is a must. This product does the trick. It is a bit mre expensive than say the REMO equivalent and one cannot say it is better, but in this case the Evsan's product was a match to tszht in a companion bass drum that already had the product in place.

Blends well with band, two ply durability muffles w/o stiffling tone, as easy as changing any bass drum head. Has additional sound ring to muffle further if desired but you may not need it. Good buy, XLNT product.
