The package arrived even earlier than expected. I had been thinking of buying one of these for a long time, my phone only blocks 20 numbers and my carrier seems to not care about robo callers, I get them all day long, just about every day. This unit has been a joy to have, just press the button and gone! I can also scroll through missed calls and add them to the list, my phone has caller ID so I can save friends and block the rest, almost 100 numbers in just the first month.

I bought this Call Blocker to end the unwanted phone calls that look REAL on my phone's caller ID. Same area code, same exchange so you think you're receiving a "local call", so you answer the phone call only to find out it's a BS unwanted phone call! Easy to install ... main phone line from the rear of your present phone goes into the Call Blocker marked LINE, then black 6" wire (provided) gets plugged from Call Blocker TEL out into your phone where you removed the main wire coming from the wall. This hook-up is the SAME for a desk type or cordless phone. Using the Call Blocker again is easy especially if it's connected to a cordless phone. When you receive a call, you'll see the incoming number on your phones Caller ID, I recommend to ANSWER THE CALL ... if it's a BS unwanted call ... I bought this Call Blocker to end the unwanted phone calls that look REAL on my phone's caller ID. If you're out, then come home and see an unwanted phone number on your Caller ID (no one was home when the call came in to answer this call), simply scroll up or down using the up or down arrows on your Call Blocker till you see that unwanted phone number on the Call Blocker's LED screen, then press the RED button and that unwanted phone number is now added to the Call Blocker and BLOCKED. My initial review was 5 stars but caution must be employed when leaving enthusiastic reviews too early. I’ve had this unit for several weeks now and I must revise my initial opinion. I purchased this unit because we often get several “unavailable” and scam robo calls a day. The free landline version of Nomorobo service does little to nothing to stop these calls. The manufacturer suggests installing this with a base unit on a phone not shared by any other devices for best results. The default configuration is to hook it up in series. Apparently in the U.S. if the series connection is used, it will not pass on the Caller ID Name, only the number from the line. If you have the name entered in the directory of your home handset, the name associated with the number you entered will show up on ... I tried it in this configuration. I called from my cell phone to my home phone. The handset did indeed register the info I entered for my number but there was a huge delay between how the home phone responded and what I heard through my cell phone. Furthermore, the home phone disconnected and didn’t allow the answering machine to record my message! Yes you can leave a voicemail with your carrier if you have that set up but it renders the home answering machine feature useless. This is unacceptable to us. I have used it in the parallel configuration now for several weeks. The scam robo calls do seem to have dropped off significantly but we still get the “unavailable” calls ringing through with one or two rings before the unit can catch them. I thought this was supposed to block those calls if programed to do so. Which brings me to another point. In order to program the unit for extra blocking features such as “unavailable”, “out of area”, “international” etc. you must first connect the system in the series configuration! If the limitations of operation in series are unacceptable you then have to reinstall the parallel configuration after programming. It takes experimentation with the various blocking features to find what will work best for you. If you go in and install all the extra blocking features, you may not know if something important was blocked until much much later. Every time you change something, you must have it in series to register a successful change. I find this to be very cumbersome since the trade off for operation in series is unacceptable. You must use a different supplied cable for each configuration. I keep the extra cable tied to the unit. Your milage may vary. At least the big red button seems to work in the parallel configuration if the number is displayed on the unit when it’s pressed. If you do not care that the name on an incoming call could be blocked if not in your local directory on your phone and you don’t mind being relegated to using your carrier’s voicemail, perhaps this could be a better fit for you. I did not test this in series long enough to see if it completely blocked the “unavailable” calls. I honestly don’t know if there is anything better available. I personally was less impressed with the features of the other products I read about. It seems no matter what I tried, it would be a compromise. I’m not yet aware of a perfect solution. So I will keep using this unit. It’s better than nothing but I’m very disappointed!

When you receive an incoming call (you must have Call ID on for this to work right), if you see an unfamiliar number you can hit the Block Now (which terminates the call and adds them to your blocked list) or if you pick up and hear if it is an unsolicited caller and just hit the Block Now which terminates the call and adds the number to your blocked call listing. This feature allows you to block up to 1500 unwanted calls. There are 5000 preset known major phone violaters/companies/robocalls already programmed in your device. There are other features as well but as far as my purchasing it I love it because there is no charge once you purchase this device to use it ... Yes this does work with Magic Jack
I have Magic Jack that is plugged into my computer and have the line running from the magic jack to the Block Now then out to my Panasonic wireless phone dock which operates two phones. I had many calls at first until I added these to my block list. You DO NOT have to buy any cords or double connection as this all comes with this unit. I even called Magic Jack about why they do not have Call blocking and they said they were working on it. Well I could not wait as I was getting four different calls three to four times a day. Yes they still try and call the number shows up on my caller ID but the phone does not ring and they get disconnected right away. I made the mistake on blocking my own number and it was easy to reinstall it. So Yes this has been working for almost a month now, sweet ... Stop Robocalls!
An excellent product! Easy to install in two variations well explained. Worked immediately after installation. It has stopped the ringing of robocalls. Easy to add new numbers to the device's data base. Was easy to undelete a number accidently added to the block data base. Highly recommend this product despite it's higher cost. It was worth it.
