Should not happen with a brand new machine.
Suction is too good for a plush carpet and the machine stops. Should not have to modify the skirt so that it can work, had to find a You Tube hack so that can be made actually usable. My Old Dyson which I can no longer get parts for had no trouble with the plush carpet.

It's ok
This is not the first Dyson that we've had in some regards it has gone backwards and build quality seems lesser... Also some functionality is missing from the older original dysons like quick access to your tools now they just found as separate items.

Great machine
I previously had a Dyson for the past 10 years and it still operates reasonably well but needed a new power head. In view of the age, I purchased this new model and was amazed how great it was in removing deep down dirt in our carpets, even though they had recently been professionally cleaned. Well done Dyson
