two-time failure
The first one I got didn't work correctly from the beginning. (It was plugged into the same outlet as a working 9116 charger.) I plugged it in to a different outlet to see if that would help, and it shorted out - snap, flash, smoke. I returned it for a replacement, which worked for about 6 weeks and then simply failed. A 9116 charger I bought at the same time is chugging along with no problem. I hope it lasts three years like the original 9116 that came with the tools did. I've ordered another 9116 so I can have two batteries charging. Not trying the 9226 again.The first one I got didn't work correctly from the beginning. This is a great charger for the money, you just plug it in and put your battery in and it will charge your battery quickly. We use then all the time and they work great. Don't leave them in the rain, they do not work once they get wet. we buy them all the time.
