Counting Crows never disappoint the listener. One of eight good studio albums in their career. A great concert trio would be Counting Crows, The Smithereens, and Hootie and The Blowfish.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
I like the newest album best (2008) "Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings" and their 1st album (1993) "August and Everything After" is my favorite. This one is ok. If you are not a huge fan like I am I would reccommend purchasingtheir better albums mentioned above. You may be purchasing for a specific hit like "Hanginaround" then it works for this purpose if you don't do mp3 downloads. I reccommend doing a download of the songs you like on this CD.I own all 5 CD's by Counting Crows and know nearly every song by heart. This is an honest review and I hope this helps someone make their purchase decision.
This was a truely enjoyable album as to be expected from Adam Duritz and the Counting Crows. The best listens out there are albums that have only great tunes. There is nothing more disappointing than buying a record where some of the songs are not worth the listen. Fortunately, this and all the Counting Crows albums I have purchased have been "repeat button" purchases. The album's highlight is "I wish I was a Girl" which is one of those songs that has the ability to hit home if you've ever been at the end of a relationship with someone you truely loved.
As usual, the plethora of great guitar compositions intertwined with meaningful, albeit painful, lyrics make this another great accomplishment for the band. The more you hear the tunes, the more you find yourself captured by the lines and rifts. Adam and the guys do all the work for you:Just sit back and go for another great ride!!! Not very commercial-Colorblind was slay your emotional strength from the first few lines!
I got this CD a few years back when it came out. I've lost it somewhere, and I just HAD to have another copy of it. Awesome alternative rock album.
I picked this one up in Seattle for 50 cents. As always, Adam Duritz amazes you with his beautiful lyrics. Such a talented band. This album has a slight country feel, but is nowhere near country music. Still rock n' roll. Still Counting Crows.
I LOVE the Counting Crows!!! The cd didn't skip or anything! That made me extremely happy :) thanks!
