    Very good Imperial Guard Warhammer novel about a tank company

    This is the best Warhammer novel focusing on a small unit of the Imperial Guard I've read outside Dan Abnett's work (if you're tired of waiting for the next Gaunt's Ghosts novel this should tide you over for a while). The experience of a tank company in a fundamentally absurd military campaign nicely captures the semi-comedic horror of the Warhammer 40K universe. Characterization is good and action scenes are clear and well-constructed. Also, for people who are tired of Space Marines, this story is 100% Astartes-free!
